STORAGE AND SPACE SAVING ITEMS:

Label! Label! Label!

Because space is limited, it’s hard to know where you may have stored all of those small things that you don’t necessarily need or use on a daily basis.

Our #1 Tip for RV organizing is to puchase some clear stackable shoe boxes and a good labeler.

Pro Tip: Make sure you label your labeler as “LABELER.”

Make sure an label your “LABELER” in the RV. Ha Ha!

A clear shoe box like this can be purchased for around a $1 at Walmart or Dollar General. Here’s an Amazon link if you don’t want to leave the house.

Other Storage Ideas

Pocket Shoe Organizers - Yep, that is Plural! You may need more than one!

Pocket shoe organizer attaches to the “wing wall” of an RV between the cab and the living area.

This pocket shoe organizer attaches to the “wing wall” of our RV between the cab and the living area.

We placed another pocket shoe organizer between the driver’s seat and the wing wall of our Class C RV.

We cut this pocket shoe organizer and attached it to the “wing wall” panel that separate the driving area from the living area. There was enough room between the driver’s seat and the wall to attach there as well.

BUT WAIT! Do you think that one pocket shoe organizer was enough for us? No Way!

We added a pocket shoe organizer to the long vertical cabinet by our RV’s door. It’s filled with all sorts of “grab-and-go” items. We also added a rechargable LED strip so that we could more easily see the contents of the cabinet. This space is basically the equivalent to the “junk” drawer in our mudroom in our sticks-and-bricks home.

Storage Ottoman for the Living Room

Storage ottoman (45”) for RV (dog not included)

Interior of a storage ottoman in an RV

This 45” storage ottoman is great for the living room of our RV.

We use this 45” storate ottoman in our living room. Although it is collapsable, we rarely collapse it because its usually filled with stuff. You can purchase these in different sizes and colors.

We don’t have this storage ottoman, but I love the idea of having the drawer!

Storage Ottoman for the Bedroom

These storage ottomans fit nicely under our bed and don’t really interfere with the walking pathway. The laundry basket also fits nicely between the slide and the wall. You must remember to MOVE the laundry basket on travel days!

As if one storage ottoman is not enough, we actually have two more. We keep our spare shoes in these two ottomans right by the foot of our bed. Yes, we have LOTS of shoes (don’t judge!)

We had a hard time finding a correctly sized laundry basket. This laundry basket fits perfectly between our rear passenger slide and the rear wall in our bedroom. It comes in other colors, and ours is gray.

Over-the-Toilet Bathroom Storage Rack

We use this to over-the-toilet rack to store towels in our tiny bathroom. It is supposed to stay in place with the tension rods, but we also fastened it to the rear wall of the bathroom using a couple of pipe hanger brackets.

Collapsible Tables and Step-Stools

Outdoor Folding Table

This outdoor table is super-handy and collapses into a small space like a camping chair.

Folding Step Stool (for Indoors)

We don’t have this exact step stool, but we have something similar that I think we purchased as an Aldi Find (we love Aldi!). We use this step stool almost daily to reach the cabinets above the sink and to reach things on our top bunk bed.

Adjustable Step Stool (for Outdoors)

We occasionally use this collapsible and adjustable step in front of the RV door. That’s usually at a campground where the site is not very level.

Foldable & Collapsible Chairs

This foldable padded lounger is one of my favorite things!

We place this foldable/collapsible chair on the floor in our living space so that both of us can stretch out while watching TV. It is super comfy, and one of my favorite things we’ve purchased for the RV!

“Outdoor” Rocker Chair

We use these rocking chairs both inside and outside of the RV. Make sure you store them inside as the fabric fades and does not take the heat very well. That’s why I placed “outdoor” in quotes.

Compact Camping Chairs

These camping chairs are COMPACT! The chairs will fit in a backpack, and are great for concerts or similar outings. We keep them in the back of our towed vehicle so we always have them on hand if we want them.

Collapsible Stool

Kasie sometimes uses this collapsible stool for her work during the day. It’s also just great for extra seating.

Home Office in the RV

Dinette Storage Drawers

We added these under-desk storage drawers to our dinette, which we often use as our office. These drawers can hold a mouse and a few other small office supplies.

Foldable Desk

Kasie will occasionally go to the bedroom to do some work. She can sit on our bed when it is retracted and then use this desk.

Compact Thermal Printer & Thermal Paper

While we try to do as much as we can without paper, we occasionally need to print something. This HPRT printer and thermal paper has been quite handy!

Other Space Savers

Slim Bathroom Trashcan

Most trashcans are too wide to fit in the small space between our toilet and the wall but this one does!

Telescoping Ladder

Okay, a ladder isn’t technically “furniture,” but we needed a ladder for slide and awning maintenance. This space-saving ladder fits nicely in our pass-through storage.

FURNITURE PROTECTORS

Cusion Slip Covers

Instead of a sofa cover, we are currently using these slip covers around the cushions on the dinette and sofa. We have several of them — one for both the horizonal and vertical sections of both dinette sides. We also cover our living room ottoman with these covers.

Vent for Mattress

When we were staying along the Texas coast, we were horrified to find some mold underneath our mattress. We didn’t really like the mattress anyway so we purchased a new one. We now place these floor tiles underneath our RV mattress to help prevent mold since there is more air circulation beneath the matress.

KITCHEN ITEMS

Magnetic Knife Bar

We mounted this magnetic knife bar to help free up precious counter space in our kitchen. I was concerned that the knives might fall off during travel, but so far, so good!

Splash Guard

This little mat is designed to help water spots from forming on the counters because some people (i.e., Lana) are messy splashers at the sink!

Small Coffee Pot

We had a hard time finding a coffee maker that would fit underneath the cabinets of our 2019 Jayco Greyhawk. It also seems to stay put during travel days so that is a bonus.

Induction Cookware

Our RV has an induction cook-top so these kitchen pots/pans are designed for use with it.

Outdoor Grill & Grill Cover

Large Cutting Board over Cook-Top

We place this cutting board over our induction stovetop to protect it and also to give us more functional counter space. (Note: we attach “feet” on the corners so that the cutting board does not lay directly on the cooktop).
