GPS and DASH CAMS

Garmin “Trucker” GPS

This “trucker” GPS helps us find better roads and also helps notify us of low clearances.

Garmin Dash Cam

We use this dash cam in the RV. It automatically records any incidents, and also has a lane departure setting.

Vantrue Dash Cam (for Interior Video)

We use this Vantrue dash cam in our towed vehicle. It is great for capturing unexpected encounters with wildlife! It also records what’s happening INSIDE the vehicle. The only downside is that the audio on the dash isn’t very good.

OTHER DRIVING GEAR

ScanGauge

We use this ScanGauge to help diagnose problems with the S2RV chassis.

Our “Console” Cooler

The console area in our Entegra Accolade isn’t great for storage. This cooler fits nicely in the space to provide extra storage and cup-holders. Kasie 3D-printed an adaptor so it can also hold snacks while driving. (Check out Why Every RVer Should Own a 3D Printer for more RV 3D printing ideas.)

We also use the Igloog cooler to stand on if we need something in the cab-over space.

Safety Hammer / Seat Belt Cutter

We have these Safety hammer / Seat belt cutter escape tools in both the cab area of our RV and our tow vehicle. Kasie used the safety hammer to break open the window of a person who had ran into our truck after having a seizure so that we could help her. This video explains more about what happened.

Dashbord Digital Clock

Even with all of our fancy GPS gadgets, it’s still hard to quickly tell the time because font is so small on the GPS screens. Kasie bough this digital clock to fix that. Now, we just need to BE on time…

Camping Logbook

On some trips, Lana likes to log all of the roadkill and other items we see on the road in this book.

Did you know that 5-gallon buckets are the most popular roadkill?

Fun Fact: What “roadkill” things do we see the most of on the road?

ANS: 5-gallon buckets!

Driving / Suspension Upgrades to our S2RV Chassis

Like most owners of Jayco Senecas and Entegra Accolades, we love our RV. Our 2022 Entegra Accolade XL 37L is built on the Freightliner S2RV chassis, and for the most part, it’s like driving a truck. Okay, it’s a BIG truck…..a VERY BIG TRUCK.

As much as we love our rig, it seems like all of the cool kids in the online forums make some modifications to help improve the suspension and drivability of the S2RV chassis. Kasie decided to join the cool kid club by making a quadfecta of upgrades, namely installation of:

(1) Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer;

(2) Gabriel Shocks;

(3) Sumo Springs; and

(4) Motion Control Units.
