The GoPro: Our “Go To” Video Device
We record most of our videos using a GoPro. We started with a GoPro 9, and then purchase a GoPro 11 as a back up.
GoPro Hero 11
GoPro Lens Proector & Cover
We use this rubber case to help protect the GoPro. The great thing about the company is that if you do break it, GoPro will replace it for just $100.
Spare GoPro Batteries
GoPro batteries don’t have much life. We recommend buying some extras.
GoPro Assessories
We have all sorts of gizmos that we use to mount our GoPros.
Other Video Devices
Panasonic Video Camera
We use the Panasonic 4K Camcorder HC-VX981K 20X optical zoom for most of our up close videos.
Insta360 Camera
Drone (DJI Mavic Mini)
We use an early-generation DJI drone. It works fine for our needs. Frankly, most state and national parks now require a permit for droning so we usually use this mostly to capture aerial views of the RV parks we stay at.
Dash Cam (that records INSIDE the Vehicle)
We occasionally use this Vantrue dash camera as a back-up for driving video. While the camera also can record the vehicle’s interior (e.g. of us talking), the audio isn’t great so we need a supplemental audio device to be able to use the footage.
Panasonic Lumix Digital Camera
Kasie uses this fancy Panasonic Lumix camera for some of her photography.
Camera Filters
These are the filters for the Panasonic Lumix camera.
Audio Devices
Yeti Microphone
Lana uses the Yeti for when recording songs.
Lapel Microphones
We started using our phones to record videos, and quickly realized the audio was poor so we bought these microphones. We now use the GoPro, which has better audio so we don’t use them much anymore.
Tri-Pods and Back-Packs for Camera Gear
The BIG Backpack
We love this big camera backpack, and take it with us on most of our longer adventures where we think we will want multiple cameras and video devices.
The SMALL Backpack
This backpack is smaller and we use this for outings where we don’t think we will need that much equipment.
Tripod
This tripod has a pretty neat design and fits nicely in the back seat of our tow vehicle. We keep in there….just in case we see something cool when just driving around.
